4. Why is supporting pediatric neurology research important?

Supporting research in this area is very important because children are our future. Approximately two percent of the world's children population suffer from neurological diseases. Whether autism, mental retardation, birth defects, epilepsy, muscular dystrophies, or other genetic diseases, they all share the same need for better research and treatments.

Children with neurological diseases are underserved and their diseases understudied. Their treatments are expensive to the extent that they strain their parents' economical resources, often leaving children without advocate for their cause. The Child Brain Foundation believes that the best way to support them is through awareness and research. Awareness increases interest and attracts more funds for the cause. Investment in research is the only method to eradicate the root cause of neurological diseases. It is through research that we will be able to abolish these diseases.

Additionally, research on the developing nervous system advances our understanding of the brain, the mind and their diseases, beyond childhood, and across the entire human lifespan.

5. What differentiates the Child Brain Foundation from other Foundations?

The Child Brain Foundation believes in rapid funding of high-impact research that can be immediately applied to treat diseases or that will open new and unprecedented avenues for future research.

Additionally, because there are no salaried employees at the Foundation you can be sure that your donations have the highest impact possible on the advancement of research in pediatric neurology.
